So maybe you’ve already asked yourself, why the word “muddled”? Oooooor maybe you really couldn’t care less π .
Either way, check out the definition below β¬οΈ
I don’t know about you, but that defines my life to a ‘T’!! π«£
Obviously in my day-to-day life, I strive for that perfect, neat, tidy, and super organized vibe, that we see online, but overall, I find myself in one catastrophic hot mess after another. π
Whether it be in my marriage, finances, or my momma journey, I constantly have a never-ending list of where my life needs DRASTIC improvements. Don’t deny it, we all be out here in the wild trying to strive for that Pinterest or Instagram worthy house or life that we have been bamboozled into believing is real. π BUT….Honestly, ask yourself – how much effort goes into each picture posted? Realistically, how long do you think that space actually looks like the photo you see in your newsfeed? I bet, if they actually have children living there, that they be locking their children in the other room while they photograph that room. π
Ok maybe that is a little extremeπ , BUT for real y’all, I bet your house, or life does look social media worthy for moments here and there, but life is not designed to fit in that newsfeed photo you measure your worth and success against each day.
Life is messy, disorganized, and chaotic. Life is RAW, UNEDITED, and REAL.
Stop judging yourself against what you see on social media. It’s so destructive to your mental health. And while I am preaching this to you, I am preaching this to myself even more as I am the queen of letting myself get pulled into the endless circle of scroll, compare, rinse, repeat.
Your home is your family’s safe place. It’s their refuge after a brutal day out in the world whether that be work or school. Focusing on making it a place that is warm and welcoming after a long day is all you need to do. Whatever creates that feeling for you! Maybe it’s the minimalist look that is super trendy right now, maybe you like your walls covered from top to bottom of pictures and meaningful art, maybe you like white and grey or maybe you prefer every room a different color! It doesn’t matter either way as long as it is YOU.
Anyways, now that I have gone off on a tangent, let me try to circle all of that back to my original thought at the beginning of this post – the word muddled. I feel like I am constantly just muddling my way through one point of life to another. I never feel like I have anything “figured” out. I also feel like I am the only one out here with nothing figured out. Maybe someone can reassure me that I am not alone in this. π
Hopefully this site will be not only a sounding board for me but also a place where you can read through someone else’s mess and you can sit back, exhale, and just know you are not alone.
